The Search Committee has received a final list of candidates from our consultant, NL Moore. Over the first two weeks of June they will begin the interview process. The Search Committee has these prayer requests:

As we continue seeking God’s direction in our search for a new senior pastor, we invite you to join us in prayer. Beth Dutton, a faithful member of our prayer team, has created a Scripture-based prayer guide using the acronym POWERFUL. Each letter represents a Bible verse and focus to help us pray intentionally and confidently for our Search Committee and the process ahead.

Prayer is not just a part but the cornerstone of our search for a new Senior Pastor at Calvary Church. We believe that seeking God's guidance through prayer is essential in discerning His will and finding the right person to lead our congregation. We invite everyone to join us in fervent prayer, recognizing the critical roles that different groups play in this process.
Senior Pastor Search Committee: Pray for the team as they work together, and ask God to guide this process.
Elder Board: Lift up the Elder Board in prayer, asking for spiritual insight and clarity as they provide oversight and leadership in the Senior Pastor search. Pray for their discernment in making decisions that align with God's will for Calvary Church.
Church Staff & Interim Pastor: Pray for strength, wisdom, and encouragement for our dedicated church staff and Interim Senior Pastor, Rich Schoenert, who continue to serve and support our attendees during this transitional period. Ask God to bless their efforts and grant them peace as they carry out their responsibilities with excellence and grace.
The Elder Board has signed a contract with NL Moore to assist us in the Senior Pastor search. They are a nationally-known consulting group that specializes in guiding churches through leadership transitions.
NL Moore will compile the Focus Group feedback and survey results to create a candidate profile as we search for a Senior Pastor to lead Calvary Church.

We are pleased to share that Rev. Dr. Richard Schoenert accepted our invitation to serve as Calvary’s Intentional Interim Senior Pastor. He began preaching on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
The general expectation is 12-18 months from when the search team is formed with a high expectation of church-wide prayer and participation.
The search team was selected by the Elder Board in January of 2025 and the members are:
This typically happens in 12-18 months from when the search team is formed. We know that we are in pursuit of a strategic leader that God has already prepared for us. We don’t know God’s timing, but we trust that He has many intentional things in store for us during this in-between time.
Per our church constitution, there will be a required vote of the membership for the hire of a Senior Pastor.
