What is Our Purpose? Traditional

The lights in the building are on and people are meeting. Why?  What is the church’s purpose? Specifically, God made the church to benefit us in five ways. And these five ways correspond with the five purposes of the church. Every program and event at Calvary needs to fulfill one of these five purposes. What does a church offer us? 

1. Love the Lord = Worship: The Church helps us to focus on God.
2. Love our neighbors = Service: The Church helps us to find our ministry for service.
3. Go make disciples = Evangelism: The Church helps us to fulfill our mission in the world.
4. Baptize them = Fellowship: The Church helps us to face life’s problems.
5. Teach them = Discipleship: The Church helps us to fortify our faith.
