Summary
Onesimus was a lowly servant who wronged his master and fled. If caught he could face jail time or other punishment. But when he encounters Christ, he is challenged to make right these old wrongs-to overcome the anger, shame, or fear that were holding him back. Because of the change Jesus made in his life, he willingly sought reconciliation. No matter our pasts, God invites us toward similar transformation where we can willingly seek freedom and reconciliation from our past mistakes.
