Letting God Use Your Experiences

God has custom-designed our life Experiences. He often wants to use many of them for the benefit of others (2 Cor.1:4-7). Five major experiences have shaped our lives: family/relational experiences (where we grew up, our parents, brothers and sisters, friends, etc.); educational experiences (our favorite subjects in school, key books we’ve read, seminars we’ve attended, and other types of training); spiritual experiences (times of failure, as well as times of challenge and renewed commitment); vocational experiences (satisfying jobs we’ve had, our supervisors and career choices); and, painful experiences (losses, defeats, even life-threatening illnesses or injuries). The challenge is to examine our experiences, submit them to the Lord, and then be open to serving others.
