Fierce Intention

The Bible tells us that the nature of Jesus is fully God and fully human. So if we are to follow Jesus and be in relationship with him, we must realize that he has a personality that expresses all of the human emotions we experience: playfulness, exasperation, anger, joy, sadness, and even loneliness. Unlike much of how ancient art depicted Jesus as distant and humorless, we encounter Jesus full of life and emotion. Many of the Gospel passages will not make sense if we don’t know this. We will explore how to relate to this three-dimensional Jesus, focusing on his “fierce intention” around the mission he was sent to accomplish from the Father, and how we are called to respond in kind to the mission Jesus has sent us on.
