Prayer is not just a part but the cornerstone of our search for a new Senior Pastor at Calvary Church. We believe that seeking God's guidance through prayer is essential in discerning His will and finding the right person to lead our congregation. Future Senior Pastor Search Team: Pray for the building and selection of our future search team and ask God to guide this process.
Elder Board: Lift up the Elder Board in prayer, asking for spiritual insight and clarity as they provide oversight and leadership in the Senior Pastor search. Pray for their discernment in making decisions that align with God's will for Calvary Church.
Church Staff & Interim Pastor: Pray for strength, wisdom, and encouragement for our dedicated church staff and Interim Senior Pastor, Rich Schoenert, who continue to serve and support our attendees during this transitional period. The Elder Board has contracted with NL Moore to help us navigate the search process. They are a nationally-known consulting group that specializes in guiding churches through leadership transitions.
NL Moore will compile the Focus Group feedback and survey results to create a candidate profile as we search for a Senior Pastor to lead Calvary Church.
Yes, a summary document will be shared which can also be used to “tell the story” of our church.
We are pleased to share that Rev. Dr. Richard Schoenert accepted our invitation to serve as Calvary’s Intentional Interim Senior Pastor. He began preaching on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
The general expectation is 12-18 months from when the search team is formed with a high expectation of church-wide prayer and participation.
The search team will be formed with diverse members of Calvary Church representing both campuses and broad groups of age and families. This will occur after we receive the results from NL Moore, evaluate our Survey Results Plans and implement actions moving forward. The search team will be selected by the Elder Board.
This typically happens in 12-18 months from when the search team is formed. We know that we are in pursuit of a strategic leader that God has already prepared for us. We don’t know God’s timing, but we trust that He has many intentional things in store for us during this in-between time.
Per our church constitution, there will be a required vote of the membership for the hire of a Senior Pastor.
