Life Events

Weddings, funerals, parent/child dedication, and baptism are all important milestones in our journey as followers of Jesus. We are here to walk with you for these important days of your life.

PRE-MARITAL & WEDDINGS

Congrats—You're Engaged!

Pre-Marital Counseling

You're getting married! You'll need to get counseling before your big day. And of course you know that Christian couples are at risk for divorce just as much as non-Christian couples. That's why pre-marital counseling is a great first step for couples wanting to get married and stay married!

Calvary Church offers many tools to start you off right in your marriage—individual counsel with a pastor, connection with a mentor couple, a weekend seminar with experts in a variety of fields, and other options that can be tailored just to you and your spouse-to-be.

Hot topics covered in pre-marital counseling include:

  • Understanding your family of origin
  • The Biblical understanding of marriage
  • Communication
  • Conflict resolution
  • Finances
  • Sexual intimacy
  • Roles in marriage
  • Legal issues
  • Expectations going into marriage

Planning Your Wedding

You’re ready to set the date. Congratulations! If you’re a member or regularly attend and you’ve decided not to get married in a barn or at a golf course, there are a variety of indoor facilities available for you between Calvary Church’s two campuses—Roseville and White Bear Township.

If getting married in the great outdoors or at another venue, one of our pastors can officiate once you’ve completed our pre-marriage counseling sessions. Take a look at the detailed Wedding Planning Guide in the button below to see how weddings work at Calvary Church.

Funeral & Memorial

We’re so sorry for your loss.

Psalm 34:18 tells us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Losing a loved one brings pain and stress to a family, and the Calvary Church community understands what you’re going through. One of the first things to do may be to plan a funeral. If you’re doing that, contact us to let us know how we can help. Some things to think about before you start planning this important event:
  • Some dates and times that work for your family.
  • The pastor you would like to officiate.
  • Music and musicians important to your loved one.
  • Meaningful scripture to share.
  • Individuals who may want to share a tribute.
To get the planning process started, contact the Church Office at 651-487-2855 or email Calvary Funeral Coordinator SANDRA RAUP.
Calvary Church does not rent to outside groups for a funeral or memorial service.

Parent / Child Dedication

Parents, child dedication is a commitment you make before God, as parents, to give thanks to God and express your desire to lead and raise your children to follow Jesus during a Worship Service.

baptism

An outward expression of a personal commitment, baptism by immersion is one of the practices of Calvary Church. We do it to follow Christ’s example and command, and to demonstrate that we’re followers of Christ.  Fall and spring baptisms are done during Worship Services, and the summer baptism takes place outdoors in a local lake. Interested in getting baptized? Reach out to one of the pastors listed below or attend a baptism class to take this important step.
