Pelican Rapids, MN Missions Trip (Grades 9-12)
Jun. 8, 2024 - Jun. 14, 2024
DetailsGod has called believers to step outside their cultural comfort zones and make a difference in the lives of others. Our outreach ministry at Calvary Church is called Impact, because it's our goal to impact our neighborhoods, communities, nation, and ultimately, our world by sharing the love of Jesus with those in our sphere of influence.
Calvary Church is a giving church, with funds earmarked in our budget just for Impact, our missions ministry. On this page, you can see events, short-term trips, featured partners, and our Global and Local Impact Partners. If you support Impact, you support all of these ministries here and around the world.

The purpose of Home Base is to provide a welcoming and restful place for Calvary’s Impact candidates and partners (and others serving in ministry around the world) to recharge while on home assignment. The home has been completely refurbished inside and out by contractors and volunteer work teams from Calvary. Home Base is fully-furnished and has all new appliances in the kitchen and laundry room and a new gas fireplace in the living room. There are two bedrooms and a nook area upstairs, and one bedroom on the main level.
Our desire, first and foremost, is that Home Base will be a peaceful place for rest and recovery. Beyond that, we hope it will serve as a Home Base for our partners and friends to visit with family, friends, and support team members while at home.
The Career Team has more requests each year than we can support. The following priorities help us determine which new partners Calvary Church will support each year.
Through the effective reuse of donated items, Bridging improves lives by providing quality furniture and household goods to those transitioning out of homelessness and poverty.
To date, Bridging has served over 80,000 households and currently operates out of two locations—Bloomington and Roseville. Bridging serves over 14,000 people in need every year, including 7,000 youth and children. On average, Bridging distributes 14 semi-truck loads of furniture and household goods to 80 households every week. They continue to accept quality, gently used items, and by doing so, divert 200,000 pounds of inventory from landfills each week.
The impact Bridging has made in the lives of local people in need, the environment, and its volunteers is monumental. Through support from individuals and businesses throughout the community, Bridging continues to bring hope and stability to thousands of local households.
QUALITY OF ITEMS ACCEPTED
• Quality, gently used, and new items accepted.
• All items must be clean and in good working condition (fully functioning).
• Free of rips, stains, and/or pet hair.
• Not sure if you should donate an item? Ask yourself if you would feel comfortable giving it to a friend or family member.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) strives to eliminate starvation throughout the world by packing simple, sustainable meals.
Donations, given by people like you, fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers like you hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved.
Calvary Church and Calvary in Haiti are official partners with FMSC. We ship an annual container to Haiti and distribute the food to the 16 Calvary partner churches including our sister church in Delmas and the churches in Pernier and Cotin.

Food shelves provide quality, healthy food for our neighbors in need, helping them be self-sufficient, stable, and successful.
• Bring canned food items throughout the year to the collection bins on each campus. Donations go to Keystone Community Food Shelf and White Bear Emergency Food Shelf.
• There are also opportunities to volunteer at these food shelves. Volunteers make a difference as they help their neighbors.

We walk beside each client offering them love and support to make informed and educated decisions in their time of crisis and need. It is through this care that we are seeing God change hearts, save lives, build families, and restore hope.
• Client support roles are only available during New Life Family Service business hours. More information can be found at nlfs.org/get-involved/volunteer
• Ministry support roles vary and can be matched to volunteer availability and time commitment. Examples include donating baby items, distributing brochures in your area, and more.
