Boxing Up Christmas Contemporary

The angels, the census, the journey, the animals, the birth, the manger, the shepherds’ celebration, the magi’s gifts… and then… what? The shepherds returned to their fields, the magi to their land, the skies darkened, and the miracle of birth became diapers and feedings and the chores of everyday life. We, too, pack away Christmas until next year. But like Mary, perhaps God has given us something to treasure in our hearts—something to consider the whole year through.
