Travelers Guide to the Path of Life

Led by John Carlson

Do you want wisdom for living? Looking for a deeper understanding of how to live life wisely? The Bible’s wisdom is “more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare to her.” (Proverbs 3:15) This course digs down to uncover biblical wisdom found in the teachings of David, Solomon, and Jesus.

The Story of the Bible for Everyday Life

What is the story of the Bible? In this course, we will unpack this question by examining how Scripture’s themes find their fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We will look specifically at creation and new creation, the great rebellion and the call of Abram, the exodus and new exodus, the Davidic king, and exile and return. This will be a challenging course. You will see familiar passages in a new light and wrestle with foundational theological themes, but you will also see how understanding Scripture through the lens of Jesus is deeply transformational for daily life. Class taught by Tucker Anderson.

Bible Class

The Apocalypse

The book of Revelation is a complex and often misunderstood book. Every few years there is a renewed interest in John’s Apocalypse with a “new” interpretation that follows suit. So, what is the meaning of this first-century book? As we work through Revelation, we’ll unpack John’s visions, and reinforce how the book served as a great encouragement to those persecuted first-century Christians. In this class, you too will be challenged and encouraged through a close reading of John’s Apocalypse.

This will be an inductive Bible study led by Tucker Anderson, Discipleship Pastor, and Ralph Gustafson, Senior Adults & Volunteer Development Pastor. Participants will be expected to read the assigned chapters in advance of the weekly study and to readily enter into discussions of the text.

Mondays, January 11—March 22 / 4-5pm
