Shawn’s committed to serving God by leading well, listening well, and preaching relevant, Biblical messages. He wants Calvary Church to be a place that makes disciples who make disciples for Jesus Christ. Shawn and his wife Becky have been married since 1992 and have four children and two daughters-in-law. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with Becky and the kids, running, coaching and taking loooong family road trips. If his beloved Kansas Jayhawks are playing basketball, he’ll cheer them to victory. He’s a graduate of Biola University, Bethel Theological Seminary, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

MIKE GRAHAMWhite Bear Campus Pastor

Mike’s a self-proclaimed ministry nerd, and loves all aspects of pastoral ministry. With 25 years of pastoring under his belt, he’s found building relationships are key to seeing Jesus transform lives. Mike has earned degrees from the U of M (B.S.), Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and is currently completing his D.Min. at Bethel Seminary. Mike enjoys being a part of this community, and uses his secret weapon of WOO to win others over! He and his wife Lisa are parents to son Travis (and daughter-in-law Erin) and dogs Moose and Charlie. And as long as everyone understands where they fit in the pack (hint: the dogs are alpha, the humans are not), everyone gets along famously.

JEFF MORGANExecutive Pastor

Jeff has shepherded people in various churches and a variety of roles for 29 years prior to coming to Calvary. He’s humbled to be living out his passion for equipping the saints to do God’s work, and for developing volunteers and ministry leaders. In 1984, Jeff married his U of M college sweetheart, Cheryl, and then went on to complete his M.A. in Theological Studies at Bethel Seminary. God blessed the Morgan’s with a daughter and a son, and then led them to adopt a sibling group of four children from the Philippines (three boys and one girl) in 1999. (They have quite a faith story about God’s hand in that!) Their family has grown to include three daughter-in-law’s and seven precious grandchildren. For fun, Jeff dabbles in woodworking, enjoys good books, and playing with the grandkids. He especially enjoys “jam-sessions”—playing guitar with family and friends.

MARCELLA RAINEExecutive Director of Finance & Support Ministries

Money is talked about a lot in the Bible, and we’re given great instruction on how to handle it in God-honoring ways. Marcella is humbled to be entrusted with the gifts from the congregation, and is diligent about keeping people informed on how the funds are used. She’s a Calvary Church Rock Star, having been on staff since the merge with Christ Community Church. Marcella has four adult children—two by birth, and two by marriage—and seven grandchildren who give her an enormous amount of joy. When she’s not at work (which is rare), she enjoys reading and crafting. She’s our resident California girl, and earned her B.A. in Accounting at San Diego State University.

TUCKER ANDERSONRoseville Campus Pastor

Tucker’s desire is to provide each person at Calvary the tools and resources to be disciples of Jesus. One of his greatest passions is helping people apply the larger story of Scripture to their everyday life. Tucker and Alia have been blessed with two little daughters (Myra and Ella). As a family, they enjoy tandem biking and exploring parks throughout the Twin Cities. He’s a graduate of Bethel University, Bethel Seminary, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

CHRISTY BECHERChildren’s Ministry Pastor

Christy loves walking alongside Calvary kids and their families and watching as they grow in their faith. Her ultimate goal is for kids to become devoted followers of Jesus. Christy and her husband Cory have four children, and she has called Calvary home since second grade. After graduating from University of Northwestern, St. Paul with a B.A. in Elementary Education, Christy taught elementary school for five years before joining the Calvary staff in Children’s Ministry. In 2019, she earned her M.A. in Christian Thought from Bethel Seminary. Her current claim to fame is falling off her high heels when giving announcements in a service. Christy loves getting lost in a good book, watching her kids play sports, and dreams of traveling the world. Someday.

CHERYL BRUNKOWCommunication & Marketing Director

Cheryl firmly believes communications in the church should achieve the same level of excellence that is applied to business, to reflect well on our “CEO.” Graphics and words are powerful tools that enhance the worship experience. Cheryl and Rich have three young adult sons, two daughters-in-law, and two grandkids—a matched set!—a girl and a boy. She has held a variety of writing, graphic design, and marketing jobs, most recently at Bethel University (her alma mater)—and has been overheard gushing, “I LOVE that font!!!” Also a foodie, Cheryl writes a blog to share her passion for cooking and entertaining with others. Oh, and she makes a mean chocolate chip cookie.

Vonn has a big heart for the world, and constantly challenges people of all ages at Calvary to put their faith into action through outreach and service. His heart for missions has taken him (with teams from Calvary) to Haiti, Ukraine, Jamaica and Ethiopia. He and his wife Martha have four adult children, and are SUPER excited to have two granddaughters. On staff at Calvary since 1993, he brings a variety of skills to the table including teaching, and directing plays and musicals. Vonn loves working outdoors to maintain his six ponds, apple orchard, and multiple gardens. He’s earned degrees from the University of Minnesota, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Temple Baptist Seminary, and Hamline University.

RALPH GUSTAFSONSenior Adults & Volunteer Development Pastor

Ralph holds a few degrees—from Bethel College (B.A.) and Bethel Seminary (M.Div, Doctor of Ministry). He’s used his education to bless many with his warmth and servant heart over the years, most recently at Bethel University. Ralph and his wife Lyn have attended Calvary for over two decades, raising four children here. His brood has grown to include in-laws and nine grandchildren. For fun, Ralph likes spending time with Lyn, reading, biking, teaching, hanging out/dining with friends, traveling, camping, hiking in the National/State parks, going to football/baseball games, and… water fights with the grandkids. You’ll see Ralph’s love for the Lord radiate from him as he welcomes and connects people to ministry opportunities at Calvary.

TAMMIE JUNKANSTraditional Worship Pastor

Tammie is passionate about worship, hoping it brings people to God in ways that are life-changing. She also hopes that musicians and artists will find community at Calvary. Tammie and her husband Dean have two adult children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and two adorable little grandsons. When not rifling through piles of sheet music, Tammie enjoys reading, shopping, traveling, singing in Two Rivers Chorale, and getting together with friends and family. A Calvary attender since 2000, she was excited to join staff in 2007. (We think she’s practically perfect in every way, just like her idol Mary Poppins.) Prior to working at Calvary, Tammie taught K-12 music, and is currently an adjunct at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul. She holds degrees from Bethel University and University of St. Thomas.

Matt LennanderContemporary Worship Director

Matt lives and breathes music, as he’s been leading worship since high school, and has a generous sprinkling of other worship gigs and events scattered throughout his career. (Just so you know, he’s kinda famous, having toured with well-known bands and artists from 2002-2012… but given his humble servant heart, he won’t brag about it. ;o) Then a stint at McNally Smith College of Music earned him a music business degree. In addition to blessing us as a full-time Worship Director serving both campuses, Matt has a side business of real estate investing. And being a born and bred Minnesotan, he loves any water-related activity like kayaking, or land-based recreation like hiking, frisbee, or volleyball.

Sam is a graduate of Minnesota State Community & Technical College (A.A), University of Northwestern—St. Paul (B.S.), and Bethel Theological Seminary (M.Div.). His years of experience as a camp counselor, and programming and curriculum writer for YouthWorks make him the perfect fit for our Youth Pastor role. Sam lives 0.6 miles from Calvary’s Roseville Campus and 2.2 miles from the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, where each year he sells the world’s best foot-long hotdogs for the family business—started by his grandfather in the 1940s. Sam enjoys the occasional bike ride, the frequent cheesy pun, and spending time with his bride, Rachel, who he married in December 2019. He is thrilled to be part of the pastoral team at Calvary Church and serving some truly incredible teenagers.

BEN TYVOLLEngagement Pastor

Ben feels that effective care ministry will mirror how Jesus cared for people—by inviting people into safe and loving relationships, and encouraging them to embrace their new God-given identity. Ben and his wife Kaaren (not a typo!) have six busy kids who give them both great joy and present challenges. He loves to be outdoors, play/watch/coach sports (anything that involves a ball), listen to and play music, and hang out with his family and friends. As a graduate of both UW-Stout and Bethel Seminary, he’s torn in his NFL allegiance, but has decided to raise a brood of Packer fans. We forgive him.
